Silent Printing with PrintNode
PrintNode lets EcomFlux send label jobs to a printer on your network without opening the browser PDF or system print dialog for every shipment. Warehouse staff click print in EcomFlux; the label appears on your thermal printer — fast, repeatable, and built for high-volume fulfillment.
Why use PrintNode?
Browser-based printing interrupts flow: save PDF, open preview, pick printer, confirm. PrintNode runs a small desktop clienton the machine attached to your printer (or on a print server). EcomFlux talks to PrintNode's API; PrintNode delivers the job locally. That “silent” path is what makes batch and single-label printing feel instant at the packing bench.
Connect PrintNode to EcomFlux
Work through these steps once per warehouse or print station:
- Create a PrintNode account. Sign up at PrintNode.com and log in to their dashboard.
- Install the desktop client.Download and install PrintNode's client on the computer that is connected to your thermal printer (USB or network). Keep that machine awake during shifts so jobs can reach the printer.
- Generate an API key. In the PrintNode dashboard, create a new API keyfor EcomFlux. Copy it to a secure place — you won't be able to read it again from some UIs after creation.
- Open Hardware settings in EcomFlux. Go to Settings → Hardware (PrintNode integration).
- Paste your API key. Save the connection. EcomFlux will automatically detect printers exposed by your PrintNode client (the thermal devices registered with that account).
- Choose your default printer. From the list, select your Zebra, Rollo, or other supported thermal model as the default for label jobs so one-click print targets the right device.
Tip:If a printer doesn't appear, confirm the PrintNode client shows it as online in their dashboard first — EcomFlux can only see printers PrintNode already knows about.
